How it works

One call. Nothing to set up.

If your phone can dial a number, it works. The number you call from is how we ring you back.

  1. Call CallSitter

The greeting gives the rate and the cap. We text you the payment link while you go on.

  2. Dial the business

Key in their number and get through the menu and ID questions yourself.

  3. Press **, hang up

We keep your place in line. Your phone is free for anything.

  4. Pick up when we ring

We ring from CallSitter's number the moment a person answers.

  5. Press 1 and talk

You're straight through to the person. We stop listening.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need to sign up?

No. You call when you need it. The number you call from is how we ring you back.

How do I pay from a landline or office phone?

Say your email address and we'll email you the payment link, or press 2 and key in a mobile number to get it by text. Open it and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. We keep that email or number only until the call ends.

Can I hold a call for my mom or dad?

Yes. After the greeting, press 3 and key in their number, then dial the business as usual. When a person picks up, we ring you first. Press 2 and we ring them straight into the call, so when they answer they hear you, not a recording. Press # to drop them, say if voicemail answers. The price is the same.

What if the agent hangs up before I get there?

We ring you within seconds of a person picking up and tell them you're on the way. If they still hang up, you pay nothing, and one reply starts the call again.

What if they offer to call me back?

We spot the offer and text you. Say yes and we ring you in for a few seconds so you can accept it yourself. Taking their callback costs you nothing.

Does CallSitter record my call?

No. No audio is kept, and nothing you say is kept. We only turn hold messages into text, and stop the moment a person may be on the line, so their words are never transcribed. You get a call log of the timings, and it deletes itself after 30 days.

What number does the business see?

CallSitter's number, so a phone menu that recognises you by your number won't. Have your account number ready and enter it yourself while you're on the line.

I'm already on hold. Can CallSitter take over?

Not a call that's already running. Start your next call through CallSitter, and save our number as a contact so it's there when you need it.

Can I call 911 through CallSitter?

No. Emergency numbers, premium-rate lines and personal phones can't be the number you dial through. For an emergency, dial 911 directly.

Where does it work?
